GOTS – Global Organic Textile Standard
When you shop for clothes and fabrics, look for the GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) label. All fabrics with this label ensures you that the textiles are made from certified organically produced raw materials, such as cotton, silk, flax (linen) and wool.
GOTS certified textiles prohibits chemicals which are commonly used in textile production and which are feared to cause cancer, birth defects and other serious illnesses.

When looking for organic food, look for the Euro-Leaf Organic certification logo
The EU organic logo has been mandatory since July 2010. It symbolizes the marriage of Europe (the stars derived from
the European flag) and Nature (the stylized leaf and the green color).

The 3 basic principles for the processing of organic products include the:

  • Strict restriction of which additives and processing aids can be used
  •  Strict restriction of chemically synthesised inputs
  •  Prohibition of the use of genetically modified organisms (GMOs)
